Zoo 2012 Photo Bomb!

My brother and his family were back in Iowa for a few weeks this summer (they currently live in Brazil) and we were so blessed to get the opportunity to make some fantastic memories with them while they were in town.  We all stayed at the lake together for a few days, visited to the Zoo, and jumped at SkyZone.

The zoo was fun - even if my car thermometer read 109 degrees when we left!  It was a crazy hot day, but everyone tolerated the heat well and we had a great time.  Usually, I don't spend money on extra stuff at the zoo, but this time we decided to go all out as it was a special occasion.  We rode on the carrousel, fed the giraffe, fed the parakeets, and Avery got her face painted.

What a great day!

The kiddos loved riding on the carrousel.  Luke was a little nervous on his own horse so I held him during the ride.  I almost got a good picture of all the cousins - Owen is missing.

My sister in law and I agreed that the few bucks it cost to feed the parakeets was worth it.  The birds even landed on the kids which they thought was totally awesome!

Feeding the beautiful giraffe

Avery really wanted her face painted...it was so darn cute despite the fact that it melted away after a few hours.

The kids could have played with the giant water spraying hippo all day!

Watching the fishes...

The famous suspension bridge...

We can't wait until visiting the zoo next year with Aunt Tami and our cousins!
