Dentist or playground?

Today was a big day for Cael as he had his very first dentist appointment! We bribed him with ice cream (because it is so healthy for one's teeth), so he actually tolerated it very well. However, this isn't the kind of dentist office I remember where the only kid activity was an old Highlights magazine. It is a serious fun-house. The waiting room has two playstations for goodness sake!!! The dental hygienist wore grape flavored gloves and Cael got to choose from 5 different toothpaste flavors! There were even t.v. screens in the ceiling connected to headphones for kids to wear while getting their teeth cleaned. The icing on the cake was walking out of the office with three toys, a new toothbrush, and bubble gum toothpaste. I have a feeling that Cael will have no problem visiting the dentist again! I can't say the same for his mother - I hate, hate, HATE the dentist. If we can put man on the moon can't someone invent a way to complete a dental checkup minus the metal tools?

Next, we took the van to the "the van doctor" - according to Cael. I captured some shots of the kids playing outside while we were waiting at the dealership. The cashier told me that I had very well behave children. That is always nice to hear :)

Our night rounded out by playing around the house and going to the local ice cream shoppe. I then spent an hour completely enthralled with the National Spelling Bee. Seriously, I couldn't stop watching! Perhaps my children Did Not inherit my total inability to spell (thank goodness for spellchecker) and they will one day compete & win big prizes!!!
