Last month Cael learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. I had visions in my head of running behind him holding on to the bike seat as he timidly learned to balance a two wheeled bike. That is not at all what happened. He was down to one training wheel and he asked me to take it off. As he got on his bike while I was holding the seat he turned to me and said very confidently, “Mom, you can just let go now.” Can you hear my heart breaking? He told me to “just let go”. No! No, I am not ready to let go. You are my little, tiny baby. So today it is riding a bike, tomorrow it will be his first sleep over, then in a blink of an eye he will be married and never visit me again!!!
I digress…
I let go and off he went like he had been riding a bike forever. He told me he was so good because he played a lot of balancing games on the Wii this winter. Maybe. Probably. He is a two wheeler pro these days. One more step to into boyhood and dreaded independence. Avery is already Miss Independent. At least Gabriel still needs me. ..

come over, we'll cry together
I wish they would stay young forever. However, you are doing a good job at teaching and training them for independence. Way to go!
